Today we got a doggy! He was rescued from the shelter by a vet, and we adopted him. He's very calm but yet fun loving for the few hours we've had it. We had to journey a long bus ride to take him home, but it's worth it. He's very sweet, he's already made himself home at our apartment and loves to fetch his toys and just relax in our laps. The only thing he needs work in is to be housetrained.
So, here are some pictures of the cutie!
Any suggestions for names?
Also, any tips on housetraining him? He's already peed on our floor a ton of times.
as for housebreaking, i'm still not 100% there with my 1 year old so my advice is probably not the best haha. here are my best tips:
- take them out often. start with every hour, and then scale back in 1/2 hour increments if you find out that's too frequent. - hang a bell near the door. every time you take him out, ring the bell. our little monster now rings the bell when she has to go outside! - are there places he seems to like to go more than others? for instance, my little girl loves to go in rooms where there aren't people around. thus, we now are in the habit of closing all the doors to other rooms when we're not in them. keeps her out of trouble.
hope this helps. be patient! bless you for adopting and enjoy the little dude! :)
